No-exam life insurance
Who qualifies, how accelerated underwriting works, and what happens if you don't.
Many carriers now offer accelerated underwriting: for younger, healthier people within limits, they decide using your application, prescription records, driving history, and other data rather than calling a paramedic. Decisions can come back in a day. Each quote here says whether an exam is required, possibly required, or not required.
What it changes
Skipping the exam does not mean skipping underwriting. Your answers are verified, and a policy issued on false answers can be challenged during the first two years. If the carrier has questions, it may still order an exam or lab work.
Who tends to qualify
Usually applicants under roughly 60 applying for amounts up to the carrier's limit, with no major health history and no tobacco in the last year or longer. Some carriers accept recent doctor visits with bloodwork instead of a new exam.
If you need an exam, a paramedic usually visits your home or office in the San Jacinto area for 20 to 30 minutes, at no cost to you. Healthy applicants often get a better rate class after an exam, so it can help.
